Traditional European Oak Casement Windows
The clients requirements were to replace the single glazed Crittel windows with traditional European Oak casement windows incorporating Argon filled sealed units and traditional handmade ironmongery. All glass was to be leaded.
On meeting the client in person and seeing the existing windows I could see there were major problems with condensation and insulation. With this in mind the new windows had to have high quality sealed units so as to give the best insulative properties and eliminate the existing condensation problem.
These images show the project from the workshop manufacturing to installation, also showing the original windows so the transformation of this cottage in Chartham Hatch in Kent can be seen in its entirety.
