A selection of images showing a number of projects in this period cottage. My first being the built in wardrobes in the guest bedroom styled with ledge and brace doors and finished in aged white, then a number of small pieces for the lounge area of the property.
These pieces had to be styled, distressed and aged in order for them to integrate with the cottages period.
Further to the other work I have carried out for this client I again had a very detailed brief regarding the built in wardrobes; modern clean lined wardrobes which must fit in to the space. Alongside the wardrobes a focal point to centre of the room and usable shelved area at the ends. As for the design I had to fit everything into the space so as to fit in with the character of this old country stone cottage.
From the gallery you will see the project from start to finish. The solid European Oak wardrobes with their solid Maple interiors and custom made leather pulls. A false artexed chimney breast with reclaimed Oak beam, Lincolnshire stone hearth and custom made crate. Reclaimed Oak timber was used for framing to end walls supporting new European Oak shelves with bespoke distressed false panel to ceiling and custom made iron brackets for the lighting. Interior LED lighting was operated by sensors on opening and closing of doors. Oil finish to wardrobes and traditional shellac finish to all old beam and false panelling.
